I only ask because my butlers' father, Anthony SR., passed away yesterday.

He was a very nice man and Anthony wants to place him in the entry hall.

While the cost would be substantially more then cremation, I want to honor Anthony's wishes.

But is it legal?

Yes, but you need to use flame retardard stuffing material that meets UL specifications, otherwise Anthony might not be covered by your insurance.

Interesting question. While there are no specific laws against it, there are laws that make it a criminal act to desecrate or mutilate a body. Whether stuffing and mounting a body would fall under that category depends on who is looking at it. Anthony's next of kin might not appreciate having him standing in your front hall.

If you have a balcony, you could even attach strings to the old man and put on a marionette show.

When I die my son wants to mount me and put me on the wall like a MOOSE!
Ya just don't want to go into the adjoining room.
My condolences for your father's butler!
