OK so my maiden name is "King" so i wanted to name my son Kingston, and my daughter Fallon (because it means daughter of a ruler in irish) is that cute? or do you think those names are too weird?

Love Fallon, though it doesn't technically mean "daughter of a ruler/king). It just means "leader" or, at best, "descendant of a leader" (when derived from the surname Ó Fallamhain, but you really need the Ó to indicate the descendant part). A bit of a stretch, but short of naming her "King," I think it's a nice nod to your maiden name. ;)

Kingston isn't really my style, but only because it would seem a Hollywood rip-off thanks to Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's son. Less unique and more celeb baby name at this point, know what I mean?

You might also consider Rordan/Riordan, Rory or Ryan, however. All have meanings that can be related to "king." ;)

Hope that helps.

Kingston is OK if you don't think kids will tease him when people call him King. It sounds rather presumptuous. I do not like Fallon as it rhymes with "talon," a bird's toe or claw.
I think that the MIDDLE name of King or Kingston for a boy would be fine and the middle name of Kingsley might be all right for a girl.

I think Kingston would be better off as a middle name, same with Fallon. The only one maybe that could pass for a first name is Kingston. I think Fallon is a little too unique... Srry.

Good Luck!

I really like Fallon myself, but am afraid that Kingston seems to be getting popular. With Gwen Stefani naming her son Kingston and all the play it is getting on naming boards I would hesitate. I think using it as a mn would be lovely. I plan on using my maiden name as a mn for a boy.

I love them! Kingston is a very strong sounding name. Fallon is unusual but not weird, plus I think it is very pretty! Good choices!

I LOVE THEM BOTH!!!! Kingston is one of my favorite names for a boy, but Kingston King may be a bit much. He could get teased in school. Maybe you should name him something related to Kingston, and still sounding midieval in a way. Fallon is beautiful, and I didn't even know it was a first name. It is the last name of a girl I know, but now it makes me think of it in a whole new way. Gorgeous!!!! Good job!!!

Not weird at all. Go for it both names sound great. I really like Fallon and I didn't know that it meant "daughter of a ruler," that's pretty cool.

Kingston would make for a very formal dog name. For a kid, that's a lot to be burdened with.

As for Fallon, are you Irish? If you are, then thoughts of it being weird or stupid could be dismissed.

If you want to be creative, paint a picture.
