be honest, have you ever said that you hate a song and never even knew what it said, you just hated because everyone else liked it or everyone says they hate it.
You know how people say that everyone is beautiful in their own way, and I believe that is the same with music. Every song has there own beauty.

I've never hated a song due to the lyrics, because it's the music that's most important to me. I can listen to & enjoy music from other countries, without knowing a word being sung!
I can't tolerate heavy metal or any ensemble that has brass instruments - for some reason the sound affects my inner ear & I suffer physical pain.
I've never been concerned with what others like or dislike, because music is a very personal & subjective experience.

I would hate a song because of the lyrics or my personal preference, not because of what anyone else would think. There are songs I LOVE that some people hate, but I'm not afraid to sing it loud or bring it up. I agree with the thought about music being beautiful. It helps me get through so much in my life.

I completely agree. I've loved music for as long as I can remember and have listened to the words for about that long too. And I'm being honest when I say that I'll stick by what I like, and am even happy and prepared to take criticism from people that disagree. Can't stand negative people! Live and let live, I say. If you like a certain type of music - fair enough. If someone likes a different type, that's their pigeon, innit? (whatever the f*ck that means, I'm pretty drunk.) Everyone's different and that's what makes the world a refreshing place to live in. If people don't agree with what you like, or like something different - be cool with that. How boring would it be if we all liked the same stuff?

Yes I do. Music is central to my life. Think about it have you ever had a song thats been used between yourself and a partner then spilt up after? I bet you've hated it then. I always find songs that I hate are constantly played on the radio and the most strangest thing is that you know the lyrics to it off by heart!

It all depends on what the song sounds like sometimes overides the lyrics. Usually if the song sounds good I will listen to it. It really depends on how the song makes me feel. If it makes me have a negative feeling that I don't care for then I probably won't care to hear it. If it give me good feelings then I will listen to them. Other people's opinion's don't matter when it comes to music. It's how the music makes you feel that matters.

There aren't many songs I hate, but those I do I hate because of the lyrics, and in many cases, because I just hate the singer (mostly Erika Badu); however, there is one song that I don't even know that plays all the time at my job that I hate because it's just so annoying!!!

Peronally, I don't listen to lyrics before I listen to just the music. I could care less about the lyrics...if the music is bad then so is the song.

for the most part i don't "hate" songs. I just tend to get tired of them since they are either overplayed on the radio or overplayed on my ipod (because i used to be obsessed with it). I agree...every song has its own beauty...there's no such thing as music that sounds like "garbage" because...in a way..whether you agree with it or not..it has some sort of meaning to it.

i cent help whut songs i liek an dunt liek!! haha *smiles* ♥ an ur rigtht everee one is different in their tastes, it doesnt make a song "good" or "bad" cuase of style difference alone.
im fancinated in fact by whut makes people liek certain songs, an i try to find patterns in the songs that people liek. i notice myslef i love songs that have a beat to it. i grew up weth mostly 80s music, an i wunder if my brain wus wired to be attracted to similar sounds. also i have a hard time remebering songs and lyrics. i have asspergers syndrome so i usually forget them almost as soon as i hear them, it allows me to reallay enjoy songs weth repititve cords, an listen to soothing vocals over and over, cuase its impossible to get bored of the lyrics.

I hate a song when the song annoys me...it has nothing to do with what it's about, who it's by, or what anyone else says about it.
