Most people forget that since man was ever on this earth, they get approximately 70 years (Three score and 10 years) to make decisions that impact their lives, it's still that way today. The answer to your question is more than anyone here has given. "Wives be submissive to your husband, Husbands...Love your wife as Christ loves the church". Also the Bible says "Love one another, the way you want to be Loved". "Do unto others, as you want to be done to you"
Men you are to be the Bull, made of crystal, the "Director" of your Family, I say again...."The Director". And your Wife is that Fine piece of porceline called, China. She is NOT your door-mat, your possession, She belongs to God, is Loved by God just as much as you are. I hate that statement about women being the "Weaker Sex".
Men, you will be judged for the Direction you have guided your Family, not your Wife, remember this!! I don't care whether anyone likes it or not, it is God's Will, and that is how it will be. The bottom Line here.....is Love!!
Men are to Love their wives un-conditionally and only their Wives, "Till death us do part". Men are to "Cherish, Honor and Care for thier Wives". Follow the Bible!! It's never out of date and never will be!! If you don't know God, then how do you expect to understand what he's saying to you??

When they do, the congregation starts to diminish as well as the offering. Remember, the Bible also talks about a time when the church as we know it will fold and disappear, but the world will go on. Todays society doesn't want to hear the word Bible, let alone discuss what it says between its pages. They want what the cover of Time, 1968 I believe proudly pronounced..."GOD is dead". That way, with Him "dead", the public as a whole could live their life of sin and free sex and not worry about the consequences. Gloria Steinem preached that...and all the unwed mothers took her words to heart, and now wonder why.
I like the part in the movie "Mass Appeal", when a trainee priest starts preaching about things the congregation doesn't want to listen to or hear, and Jack Lemmon, the church's regular priest turns to the alter boy and says, "we'll be going out the back entrance after services today" so he doesn't have to be confronted by the mad paritioners. Priceless...and true.
While the Bible clearly states that women should be submissive to their husbands, it also talks about a husbands duties to his wife, see Ephesians; and no one preaches about that today either.
Good luck and GOD bless.

I don't think anyone should teach total submission by the wife or total power to the husband, but I do believe that when you love and respect each other it should work out that the woman serves her husband and likewise the man serves his wife. I think we should take our roles seriously as husband and wife and do our jobs acordingly as well. I personally believe it is better for the woman to stay home with the kids and for the husband to work - that is how we are naturally "programmed" though society today teaches us that that is wrong for some reason.

No. I believe churches should preach about the sacredness of marriage and to hold that dear. Being submissive shows you are lower than someone else and a marriage should be a partnership not a dictatorship.

You are ASSuming that everyone goes to church. Not every marriage is a religious one. I don't think churches have anything to do with marriage other than if the couple decides to get married in a church, and if the couple ASK for guidance from the cleric.

The Bible clearly says that we should submit to one aother :) Wives to their husbands and husbands to their wives. So yes if it is in the book they should preach it.

Absolutely. It would solve alot of the problems that marriages encounter today...but DONT FORGET...after the bible says for the wife to submit, it tells the husband to LOVE HER as Christ loved the church. Dont just half way tell it..tell it all! And contrary to popular belief...when your husband is loving you like Christ..it is SO easy to submit.
Seriously, my husband and I live by this biblical principle and its not the easiest thing to do (its that Eve thing)..but because its God's principle...it always works out for the best.

Men and women are equal. Churches should never preach that women are lesser than men. Without women, men would never exist.

Well...The Bible is quite clear about this.
Read the part (Corinthians) where men are told to "cherish and protect their wives" and where wives are told to "respect and obey their husbands".
Of course, it means BOTH spouses should do their part...God doesn't expect just one spouse to do all the work while the other one misbehaves...It takes "two to tango" !
