Umm, maybe obedience but, not allegience possibly faithfullness. (?) I honestly don't know if she should be kneeling maybe that's just today's culture but, kneeling is normally seen as a sign of complete submission and servitude. So, I guess if she wants to be submissive or show that then she should do it but, on the other hand the groom should do something to show that he will be the leader besides just standing there.:) Sorry this probably didn't help.

Why should the bride pledge allegiance and not the groom? The groom is more likely to cheat. And why should a wife obey her husband? He doesn't own her. He can't make decisions for her. That's like slavery.

We no longer live in a society that requires every citizen to pledge their fealty to their sovereign. And a woman's husband is not a king (unless she actually manages to marry a king). So, no. What would be the point of her kneeling?

Absolutely not!!! If they must pledge anything it should be for their unconditional love for each other. Why would it be the bride kneeling anyway. Obedience, I DON'T THINK SO! I answer to myself and why I believe to be GOD, not any man or any woman.

no, i've never even heard or seen this. at the most, the couple usually pledges fidelity and love to each other. since you say you are looking for serious answers, i'm not sure if you are getting misleading info from the bible, but the bible doesn't just say that women are supposed to blindly follow their husband, it also outlines rules for husbands.
this sums it up pretty well: http://www.bible.ca/f-husbands-responsibility.htm

The only time someone should pledge their allegiance is to the flag with their hand over their heart.

i don't think the bride nor the groom should kneel down....they both should be at the same level and be equal in their relationship.
