Flies are everywhere in the mild cold, the hot, in every continent, everywhere, but why?

I think flies play a role similar to other scavengers, just on a smaller scale. Think about the role vultures play in disposing of carrion. Well, flies do the same thing, but just on a smaller scale.

Animals do not have to have a purpose as we would understand it. If they can successfully fill an ecological niche - that is their "purpose". If flies are found everywhere, it is because they are evolutionarily successful.

Flies lay eggs in meat... and when a person has a wound, flies will lay their eggs in the wound, then when the eggs hatch into maggots, the maggots will eat the dead and dying flesh and new flesh will grow the the wound will heal.

Seriously... this is all true
