I have a Chevy 1500 pickup and there's a switch right below the headlights and I can't figure out what id does or which way it's supposed to go to be off.... all the letters are faded or rubbed off.

Does anyone have a similar truck that knows what this switch is for and what position it needs to be in to be off? Or where can I find a diagram of the dash layout?

It looks like it said something something lamp... but I can't make it out

Its probably the dome light / instrument panel brightness dial.

Is it placed horizontal. And it can dial left or right? LIke roll?

If so its for the brightness of the dash lights

Could be a separate switch for the parking lights only or the dash lights-- which will be an adjustable/rolling wheel type switch.
