Don't worry, in most comas, supposedly, people don't even dream. People are generally not even the slightest bit conscious when they're in a coma, so even if you were dreaming, you wouldn't be in a coma.

If you want, (I know you could've looked it up on your own... but I still think it may help) check out this wikipedia article on it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coma

It says that comas are states of complete unconsciousness. Also, even if you were dreaming, it'd only last 2 to 5 weeks, then you'd probably come out of it.

And if you've ever read about those strange philosophies like Solipsism, which is the belief that nothing in the world exists except your own mind (because who can tell whether the people around us are thinking or just part of our imagination... or robots?) you'll see that it's hard for even philosophers to tell whether or not life is just a dream... (boy that sounded weird).

I'm not trying to give you more trouble to think about, but I've thought about stuff like this after watching The Matrix, and it's good to eventually accept what you see as reality... after all, what else is there? If you're around what you know and love, that's as real as it can get, isn't it?

Anethesia messes with your mind. It has always effected me negatively, especially mood wise. There's a good chance that the chemicals have altered your thinking for the time being. It should clear up as the anethesia totally leaves your system. Give it a couple of days.

Make a prudential judgment about the matter.

But even if it is the case, and it is all a dream, and you are in a coma, what could you possibly do about the situation? You might as well ride the wave that you are on, rather than fight against the sea.

There's still a chance you may "wake up" in the future and life will pass you by. However, that is extremely rare that one should slip into a coma and never wake up and still be in a coma. There is higher chance you may simply die.

If you come to accept death, perhaps it is easier to imagine any other variations of it. Best to declare on your driver's license "organ donor" so that your body will not linger on in an semi-conscious state, if that is your wish.

We all experience "crazy" thoughts both before and after surgery. Just rest assured that you are fine and absolutely awake. Just think - How could you be on yahoo answers if you were in a coma!

Descartes said "I think, therefore I am."

So it would appear that your ability to form this question means you exist.

Secondly, most people find it impossible to do logical things like write coherent messages or do math problems during a dream state. Try it next time you find yourself in a lucid dream.

I think you are so scared your brain is not working. Go to sleep and relax. you are fine and you are a live. You have your friends and family and all you need to do now is relax. Nothing happened everything is fine. you have to relax and stop thinking crazy things.

Thinking is a dangerous hobby. Why you would choose to frighten yourself in this way is something that you will only be able to answer.

Think about something else.

Unless you like fear and anxiety, I'd think about a dozen other things before thinking about something like this.

There are all kinds of philosophical debates about this.

My simple answer is, does it make any difference? Do you feel pain , pleasure, etc...? Yes.

Is there any possible way to "wake yourself up"? No

So live... who cares.
