That would be awesome, but they would find a way to take it back.

What if the owner is a Muslim and the employees are all Christians? The idea of mixing church and state would be alright I suppose since it is the flipping STATE that created 'STATE HOLIDAYS'! I am opposed to the mixing of church and state. In about 8 or 10 years you will know why- I don't care how much you agree with bills that strip women of their right to choose. Not to change the subject, but how many of the old farts and fartettes in Washington remember being poor, young, and from an urban setting? Oh' and after R -vs- W ? I didn't think so...
So anyway, I think the minimum wages are too low, but the fact is we all know that most jobs that are of the factory type with hourly wages are being out-sourced to people in China for 5 cents an hour!!! All that complaining about holiday pay increases does is give these big companies more leverage to justify in their fat greedy minds the need to export work. THEN most Americans would be thrilled to have a job let alone a pay increase for 12-14 holidays.
How about ' time and 3/4 '+ a 3/4 write-off for that time given to the employer. If our crooked government can give the employers some kind of a 'kick-back' MAYBE theyed not be so freakin cheap and export our jobs. Why should it be mandated that someone even give a crap about holidays anyway?
I have an idea. How about if the owner works the entire shift with the holiday working employees.

I have always gotten doubletime for working holidays. Even in Right -to-Work States of Florida and Arkansas.

Depends on if they're gov't employees. In that case, I say no b/c our tax dollars pay their salaries, and higher salaries mean higher taxes. Otherwise, I couldn't care less.
