The word you're think of is spelled "Lose".

Loose is an adjective, and can be a different verb meaning roughly "to loosen", but people often spell lose (meaning "the opposite of win") with two Os for whatever reason, but it's only one.

They are two different words.

Loose means not tight fitting. Like if you have lost weight then your clothing will be loose.

Lose means to misplace something, or to come in last. Like you could lose your car keys. Or your favorite team could lose the soccer/football/baseball/basketball game.
