No, he would probably get harsher treatment. It looks to me as if many are saying that geography, affluence, and race have so much to do with this issue, like anyone from the South that is not either wealthy or white has an excuse to murder animals for example. A lesser known player from Pittsburgh like Bulger may not get the attention that Vick is getting, but would in my opinion get a lot more bad sentiment for engaging in such an abhorrent activity being from a monetarily stable background. I just hate to see issues like race or location be mixed in with such a terrible crime, and lean toward the opinion that ANYONE who murders animals in such a way as dogfighting, cockfighting, doping racehorses or dogs, or poaching protected animals deserves the harshest penalties possible.

If Bulger was involved in dogfighting, then he should be receiving the same treatment. Roger Goodell seems to be set in his conduct policy and appears to maintain some form of consistency with his calls.
Forget the race card and look at the crime itself. Vick is involved in illegal dogfighting and ANIMAL CRUELTY! This is disgusting and outright wrong in too many ways. The media and the public have swung this to make this a "black and white" issue and the dogs which were victimized and mistreated have been shoved to the back without any care or concern apparently. Drop race from the equation and look at the crimes involved.
Looking at a professional viewpoint, Bulger is a far better QB in terms of skills and playing ability in a team aspect. Vick is a better athlete based on his maneuverable prowess and running abilities (his individual strengths), but his QB talents are barely existent which ultimately damage the team's chances.
This is not a sudden fall from grace. Vick was vastly aware of what he did. If Marc Bulger were in the same position, then he should receive the exact same considerations for punishments from the legal system and the NFL. Regarding if he were involved, then you would expect to see Bulger suffer the same consequences for the same decisions that were made by Vick.

It's difficult to say because in addition to being white (which is probably what you're getting at) he is less of an icon. Michael Vick was THE celebrity of football. His jersey was a top seller, he was on video game covers and he is touted as the most talented player in the game. Because Bulger isn't as big of a celebrity as Vick, he would not garner the same attention.
In addition to that, Vick (and his brother Marcus) both have histories of breaking the law. Therefore, the public was more ready to pounce on him for the dog fighting allegation. It can't all be a racial issue if he and his brother are notorious from the get go for legal infractions.
So, no, Bulger wouldn't get as much attention, but it would be for a variety of reasons. The main reaction would likely be shock rather than the anger that Vick is getting. However, Bulger would still be hated, still do jail time and still be kicked out of the NFL. It just might not be quite as big a story.

This is not a black or white thing. Mike Vick is MUCH more popular than Marc Bulger (not a fair question). It has to do with star power. If some 4th string on the scout squad did this there would be news coverage about it, but it would not have been a circus.
I am tierd of people making excuses for Mike Vick. I went to VA Teck and love(d) him, but he did something that is unexcusable to me. I believe after time served he should be able to go back to the NFL. I am sure with the loss of Millions of dollars and his freedom that he will have learned his lesson. Hopefully other players in all leagues are watching this and are stopping their affiliations.
Could you imagine if Peyton Manning, Tiger Woods, Lebron James or David Beckham did something like this? It would be worse

do you mean if Marc Bulger used the fake name Ron Mexico, gave a girl herpes, settled a lawsuit out of court, got caught with a water bottle with a secret compartment at the airport, flipped off fans, ran a gambling/dog fighting ring and lied to his boss and the commissioner?
You have to take the totality of the situation into consideration. If Bulger was uncovered today as having run a similar operation the outcry would not be the same because Bulger doesnt have the track record of being a dubious personage.
If he had a history of bad behaviour, then yes, things would be very similar

I think it would be similar, but not quite as bad. I don't believe he'd get lighter treatment because of race, but it's worse for Vick because he was already a polarizing figure.
Many fans didn't like Vick much to begin with because he got so much hype despite less-than-stellar passing numbers in his NFL career. Those fans then seized on the dogfighting scandal more than they likely would with a more neutral figure like Bulger.
There's no doubt that Vick deserves his punishment, but I think he's being vilified more because of the ideas that people had about him even before the guilty plea.

Bulger would go to jail with much less media attention because he wouldn't have anyone sticking up for him. What made this such a big issue was the black racists that were willing to stick up for Vick no matter what crimes he committed. It blew the minds of all sane people black AND white!

Well Mark isnt in that situation. And would never stoop that low . But why do you ask a Q like that because Mike is black and Mark is white . Just why is it everytime some black sports player get into trouble its always a color issue. Get over it . And to anwser your Q yes I believe he would get the same treatment .Maybe a little easlier if he didnt start lying right off the bat . Like Mike did.

no cause only real football fans know who Marc Bulger is...Michael Vick is a house hold name and also a very easy target. I DO NOT think its a big race issue just a situation where money and politics are out weighing everything else.

I KNOW where you are going with this! That question wouldnt even be relevant had Vick conducted himself as a professional. And the dogfighting aside he had more than 1 occasion where he acted like an adolescent. The black community continues to close their eyes to his crimes and deny he did anything wrong. I have news for the black community. Your guy broke the law and now he is gonna pay.
