I am an American and I would like to move to Europe. Where could I move without feeling disliked because of my country? What are some steps I need to do to get the ball rolling?
Thank you.

I think it will more a question of for where you can get long term visa, work permits and residency permits.
Most of Europe is not allowing many people in at the moment, but if you have a job that is requested in Europe you can try to get an employer to sponsor you in.

On top of that you will need a lot of money to keep you going till you can earn, housing is not cheap, specially since you do not have local ties and you have not been listed for years to get one of the few cheaper houses.

Start with reading the job offer pages or sites, so see what is available, check the embassy sites or the national information sites for what you need to live in their country.

You can say that the more the local language differs from English, the more likely that you can teach English, if you have a good education and are willing to work to get a teaching certificate.
But a job like that is mostly just giving you the right to stay a year at a time at most.

Do not worry all that much about the Americans being liked or not, most people in Europe know that you are not your gouvernment, and that you choose to leave your country means that you do not really agree with what is going on.
But do not talk politics and wars with people till you know where they stand, in if you do, keep your own opinions hidden till you have heard theirs.
In some cases you will be confronted with people insulting your country, with you not being able to defend yourself nor your country, because it will give a nasty situation.
If you think you can not handle something like that, better stay home.

UK would probably your best bet. Because most countries don't like the war in Iraq thing.

Sweden is a beautiful place to live. I go there on hoilday. It is so clean and has beautiful views. They also understand english quite well. But it's really cold in winter.

I think language will be one of the hardest thing to overcome. Unless you go to Spain, Portugal but in a touristy area.

hope i helped.

I would say live in Stockholm, Sweden. Amazing place, yes they understand english quite well, the city is built on 14 islands! Amazing place to live and is close to the rest of Europe! :) Or London is an option.....:)
