I think there might be a lot of people just interested in getting points. Polls & Surveys can be the perfect venue for those people who can get 2 points quickly by saying simply "no" or "yes" or any appropriate short answer. Then, they're off and running to the next possible "short answer" question.
You are correct in mentioning the lack of comments to support their choice of answers -- these comments are really necessary to answer the question to the fullest, even if it does take time and effort.

no cuz 1..i dont put many polls an 2..not many people read my blogs cuz its set to friends only an i dont have many friends *smiles* {{hey my lil honey puppy}}
