I think he is about the best author EVER. He is smart, funny and a really deep thinker that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat (or in my case with all the ligts on in the house till the last page)

I own this book, good stuff. He has faltered lately throughout the years, his last two books had the same exact plot basically. He is a good writer, I suggest you pick up Watchers, Fear Nothing, or Twilight Eyes.

I have. It was ok.

There was a period after Watchers and Lightning that he got into a rut. The characters were all so similar - a cute, wisecracking kid older than her years, the couple so very deeply in love, etc.

I stopped reading him for a while, but then picked one up not too long ago that I quite enjoyed.

Doesn't seem he'll ever get rid of the Goldens, though, but I won't get too catty about that.

I agree. If you like Koontz you'll like King. I haven't read From the Corner... yet, but of all the ones I have read of his, "Odd Thomas" is the best in my opinion.
