Trachsel is 37 years old and his best years are behind him. I wouldn't look for too much out of him but one key win down the stretch will make it a good move for the Cubs.

After it is all said and done it will be a horrible trade for the Cubs. 1. Because Steve Trachsel is 36 years old. 2. The Cubs traded two very talented prospects who are Scott Moore and Rocky Cherry. I don't think that the Cubs should have ever made this deal.

Cant help the Cubs win when they only score 2 runs a game and can't hit lefties. They need new bats and not pitchers

I'm not sure what the Cubs see in this guy. He may be good for 1 or 2 batters at the most.

His K:BB ratio is ugly but he may be able to take Marshall's spot in the rotation. They didn't really give up much of anything, even though it is 2 players. Overall though, the Cubs didn't improve a whole lot, but there are moves they could have made that would have been worse.

It never hurts to have extra pitching. His best years were with the Cubs and he'll make a good swing-man/emergency starter for them for the rest of the season. I wouldn't count on him to win you any big games, but having an experienced arm out there is always a good thing.

I'm an O's fan. No he won't help, he sucks. I remember when he was a cub back in the 90's though.

Has Steve Trachsel helped anyone before? Look at his postseason numbers...ugh, just terrible. He was one of the last free agent pitchers to sign last offseason, and for good reason.

Good move for Brewers fans.
He'll lose at least 3 games for you little cubbies down the stretch.
