I think he will prove he should be in F1. While he is unlikely to win races at Toro Rosso in 2008, maybe he can take the team to some podiums before the season ends.

Lets recall he only came to Champ Car because there were no offers to take him into F1 for 2003 on the heels of his F3000 title.

I think he will have a short stay at Toro Rosso, but not because he will not be staying in Formula One; his stay will be short because a better car will be offered to him by another team. A bit like it was when drivers came into F1 with Minardi and were hired by other teams later on--Trulli, Alonso are a couple who had this go their way.

He could of course stay at Toro Rosso should they continue to benefit from the work of Adrian Newey. This was the first year Newey worked for RBR/STR and it will take at least one more Newey-designed car before the team starts fighting for top places, I think.

I have no doubts that he will excel, and do not expect him back in Champ Car; in fact, if it does for some reason go bad in F1, I would expect him to go sports car racing. Oh, and not to mention that Champ Car could be defunct anyway. Lets face it, things are not looking good for a league that has to cancel races on account of being unable to get a sponsor for that event (Phoenix).

From what I've heard of the guy he sounds like a pretty competent driver.
I believe he was set to enter F1 a few years back with Arrows but they went under before he got his break.
As someone pointed out, he's been in champ car and done rather well......I believe this was his 3rd title or something like that. It seems as though he's more than capable of racing, and importantly, able to look to the future with maturity and patience.
Now he's finally got his F1 break I doubt he will mess it up.
I hope the guy does well, only time will tell really, but as others have pointed out, if he puts in some great performances it won't be long before one of the top teams takes him away for a shot at glory.

i think he will make Sebastien vittele look like and ice cream truck, and after a year or two he with either move up to the red bull varsity or some where better

remember this isn't a demata where hes been in the series for 8 years before all the top drivers jumped ship and he won his first champion ship, this is a guy who's has been dominant for the past 3 or 4 years

I asked a similar question two weeks ago. I think he'll do well - not podiums but team owners can spot a talent by comparing him to his teammate. Also, don't forget he's a European ( born in Le Mans ) and has raced there before -not a Champ Car driver trying his luck in F1.

If he's lucky, he might be able to get a couple of points for Toro Rosso next year.

He is a little long in the tooth for one of the big teams, but he may eventually move up to the Red Bull team in the next couple of years.

A few points maybe, but I would of tried to hold out for a little bit better of a team rather than Toro Rosso.

He will do OK. Obviously he's not with the best team, but I think he can take the pressure. No one will be wearing a wrestling mask in F1 in any case.

I think he'll do ok, but based on the reliability on the Toro Rosso cars, I cannot see him earn any points next year, but if he sticks around in 2009, maybe he'll get something!

With Toro Rosso, I think if he's good enough or lucky enough, he can score some points.
