Is there a book or some way we can identify the fossils we find?

My sons have collected many wonderful fossils this summer. (All from Michigan). We would like to find out what they are.

Any good bookstore should have (or be able to order) a book on Michigan geology, including a section on fossils. You might go to a web bookseller (Amazon.com, for instance) and search Michigan Geology or Michigan Paleontology. Another way would be taking them to the Geology Department of a local university for identification.
