Where should I go for an affordable winter vacation, anywhere around the U.S.?

My boyfriend and I are looking for a romantic, relaxing, and fun place for winter. It has to be in the U.S., and it also has lots of things to do around the city. Please give me the name of city, state and hotel for suggestions.

I would have to say Florida, south of I4. Anywhere else in the US and you risk poor weather. I was in Tucson last January 31's and it was cold and rainy.

I would say Fort Myers Beach Florida. Stay at a hotel chain right by the airport for inexpensive lodging. Drive over to the many beaches available. North to Venice, over to Sanibel, and even South to Naples...

I would check out the Emerald Coast..in the panhandle of Florida. There is nice weather up till late December. Check out any website re: emerald coast/Destin area. A lot to do, the MOST beautiful beaches in Fla, lots of clubs, great restaurants..expensive AND reasonable, charter a boat and go fishing, or just laze the day away. A restaurant to not miss is the Back Porch...typical old florida atmosphere. I fyou rent a condo it is less expensive..and you can have breakfast in your p.j.s overlooking a great view.

Tucson, AZ...surrounded by beautiful mountains, lots of golf courses and tennis courts, several upscale resorts, affordable hotels as well, good restaurants including the best mexican food in the U S, the University of AZ has all kinds of activities including sports, a very active art community, and on and on.

West Virginia! Beautiful scenery and skiing. You don't want the city in winter, a nice winter resort is very romantic and relaxing.

I know you said US but try Canada. Banff and Jasper, Alberta. Vancouver, British Columbia. Cities in Quebec.
