their beliefs on people that they don't even know?

I mean if you are against gay marraige....don't be gay and get married. If you are against abortion...don't have one. If you don't think that people should be allowed to drink on Sundays...then don't drink on Sundays.

If these "Christians" are so high and mighty, why do they need laws on the books that prevent them from doing things that are wrong. Can they not do the right thing in their own life regardless as to whether or not it is legal or illegal to do something that they are against?

I mean don't get me wrong, I don't agree with abortion....so you know what....I didn't have one. Worked for me. I don't care if two gays get married. I don't know them and their marraige doesn't affect me in any way.

Jeez....why can't people live and let live. They would be a lot better off.

Morality CAN NOT BE LEGISLATED -- IT RESULTS IN FAILURE.

What is one persons morals is another persons fun.

Live by the Golden Rule and you'll really be living your religion, or your humanity. Its really that simple.

I think that the laws are on the books because America was formed by Christian people and therefore their ideas of ethics and morality are what make up the laws. They have to have laws on record so that they can keep people in check. I mean that's the original reason. I'm not saying that they're right or anything, but the laws of any region are going to be based upon the beliefs of the majority of the people and in the good ole U S of A that's Christianity. They can't just live and let live, because without laws there would be anarchy and soon people would be saying well why is it against the law to kill someone? I mean sure that's bad, but so is drinking on Sunday, but I do that and I don't go to jail for that. That's sort of an extreme argument, but do you see what I'm saying?

I agree that some have radical ideas regarding the separation of church and state. They are wrongly convinced the Bible is ethical and moral which just proves they've never read it. And they are convinced this country is Christian and don't understand how the separation of church and state protects their religious freedom as much or more as the agnostics or atheists right to a lack of religion. They have a persecution complex. However, the issues you brought up are not strictly religious issues. They are ethical and human issues. I am not religious and decidedly undecided on religious matters but take issue with seeing babies strictly as tissue in their mother's uterus or in seeing anal sex as safe enough to be validated as a choice and confirmed with a marriage. There are compromises. For example, we could agree than viable fetuses are babies and make late term abortions illegal without interfering with a woman's other choices. I would also encourage seeing children as the core element of a family, improve conditions for women, and encourage birth control without criminalizing early term abortions. However, we must stop dehumanizing anything and anyone that's inconvenient like unborn babies and the poor. And as to gay marriage. It's NOT THE GAYNESS that bothers most people. That part is silly to straights. It's the sodomy. It's physically dangerous to the body and it spreads disease more rapidly. So gay marriage, ok, but sodomy should be illegal.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/Hh72O

Where does it say that there's a separation between church and state? The constitution? I don't think so. The ONLY thing the constitution says about religion is that "congress shall make no law concerning the establishment of religion or the disestablishment thereof" that's it nothing more. The Declaration of independence states that our rights are endowed by our creator not the government so where are you getting this stuff about separation? I'm not saying that there is no separation I'm asking where does it come from? I do know by the way where it comes from but can you tell me? I'll give you a hint. It isn't in any official document of the federal government.

I agree with the gay marriage thing, but as far as abortion is concerned: imagine if I conceived a child, I am a man and against abortion, but my partner wanted to kill my child. She can legally do that, and I have no recourse. Plus the idea that murder is an acceptable form of birth control, or that it restores the ability to 'choose' is shameful rhetoric that dresses an ugly procedure in acceptable terms. Society as a whole should not embrace murder as a solution, unless it is a case of self defense (a situation that does occur in abortion, when the mother's life is endangered).

I agree that Christians should not use their faith as a platform to enact policy, but at the same time I would expect someone's faith to be influential in someone's policy making. At the same time, agnostics such as myself, would specifically not have any faith, but in my case I use logic to determine my policies, and I still have to have faith in my logic, which begs the question does it ever end? Is there a sound reason or source to draw upon to create the best policies? No, there isn't.

Last time I read, the separation of church and state is to protect the people from a GOVERNMENT mandated church like they have in other countries. Also, sodomy is against the law so how could a gay marriage be legal? I mean, even if you are consenting adults, it is on the books as against the law.

Well, first off, there is no such thing as

" Separation of Church and State"

But you could also take your views, and apply them to things like tax's and minimium wage.

If Democrats think there should be a higher minimum wage or tax's,

Then why don't they just pay more tax's and pay their employess a higher starting wage ?

Why force people who don't believe in those things, into paying them, by changing the laws ?

Lets see ya argue out of this quandry..........LOL

Give it time, I believe you will find that you have missed the entire point. These laws are in a great deal pointed towards costs and dollars, do you want to be paying taxes for things you do not want to happen to start with? If a mojority of people (voters) in a given area do not want to be around a bunch of drunks, outlaw it. Majority rules. I am sure you would not want a hog farm next door. Same thing.....Quit complaining and start voting....................

look you have faith very strongly in a god that would or would possibly not exist, what if the U. S. exchange into outfitted on the ideals of devil or jehovah, you as a christian could combat to place a end to the affiliation between that and the government considering the fact which you do not accept as true with it. many human beings don't think in god by utilising the call of god or maybe in a god in any respect because of the fact they sense that it has not shown its existance previous a smart doubt. by utilising bringing the phrases god right into a central authority action or paper or regular element, it has a tendency to show that the government helps christ following religions above different religions which at this element is genuine, besides the shown fact that to convey equality between the government help of all religions it particularly is an greater handy step to attempt and rid issues of the interest god, particularly than set protest against the banning of abortion and the help of the christian ceremony because of the fact human beings like slow exchange, we developed slowly so we like slow exchange. Atheists do not prefer to could shop on with a central authority selection that they don't sense comfortable with because of the fact it would not enable them the liberty of following their religious ideals. because it particularly is now the appearance near near ban on abortion is a christian element, and if it is going via and an athiest who has not something against abortion needs to get one because of the fact they are going to die, the little one would be nonetheless born, or they have been rapped then they are going to be pressured to maintain dealing with with the pregnantcy, nevertheless they don't locate any ethical or religious issues of ti to that end prohibiting the freedoms allowed in the athiest faith/ perception gadget. we could continuously difficulty on the subject of the church taking on because of the fact bush is extremely very inspired purchase the fundimental christians in starting to be a backwords society wherein women as quickly as returned exchange into belongings and have no alternatives over their bodies
