Do you really want to see Stan Van Gundy in short shorts and a sleeveless shirt? Or Andy Reid in tight pants?

As funny as it would be, I'm glad they don't wear uniforms. I'm not sure why baseball managers still do, other than that they actually go onto the field of play while other sports' coaches are always on the sidelines. Joe Torre might go tot the mound to make a pitching change or behind the plate to argue with an ump, but you're never going to see Pat Riley in the post arguing a call. Baseball has also had a number of player-coaches (more than other sports) who obviously would have to wear the uniform.

It might just be my own opinion, but I personally believe that a well-dressed coach in a league like the NHL or NBA commands more respect from players. Too bad the NFL went away from that - now we just get Belichick's ratty sweatshirts and Reid's track suits.
