I talk to strangers all the time, but not just any stranger though, they have to look friendly or just look easy to talk to. I especially like talking to senior citizens or the "local drunks" (and I'm not talking about Kevin).

If i don't have a good feeling about them I made walk with out making a comment but casually i talk to people if there feeling down or anything like that. No matter who it is whether it's a stranger or someone you know well it always feels comforting to have some one there for me.

I do all the time. I work at a drug store, so I say hi, how are you, do want this in a bag, and have a nice day/night. I have quite a few customers that will talk to me for like 10 or 15 minutes before they leave!

When I'm at work it doesn't bother me. But I sometimes feel uncomfortable making small talk with strangers because I really don't like small talk, so I never really know what to say. So I just nod & smile & try to appear happy & interested.

I usually get the crazies. It doesn't usually bother me but sometimes it's scary. I don't like when the crazy ones talk to me while I'm out with my son.

Had one guy say something I still don't understand

He looks at his bike, "Look bike, it's a baby!"
Then as he walked away he turned around and said, "When he starts going, kitty kitty kitty! Then you'll know!" And pointed at us. o_O

That's a typical encounter with "strangers" for me.

Sure. I'm confident of my ability to size people up. i can tell if someone seems odd or looks rough. I'm not a kid,to be saying to myself: don't talk to strangers. It's a good rule for kids because they don't have the ability to make distinctions. But it's senseless for an adult and I think one deprives oneself.

You know what... I think that's a great attitude you have. If we could all be a bit friendlier towards one another, maybe there wouldn't be so many unhappy/grouchy people out there. I bet you get some weird looks and some rudeness thrown back at you... More power to you!
