Austin - "That's stupid, it's the name of a city"
Landon - "I don't like it. period."
Aidan - "No. I don't like it."
His suggestion?
Isaaic - pronounced eye-zay-ic. AAAAAAHHHHHH I told him we are no longer having name discussions until it is absolutely necessary. He hasn't said ok to a single name and only has this 1 suggestion. What do you think?

I can see how that would be aggrevating.
Each of you write down 6 names you like.
Each of you has 4 names on the other's list you can say no to, no questions, no more bringing them up.
The remaining 4 names can be discussed and put together or used independantly or whatever.

you could do it this way each of your write down ten boy and girl names passthe other person the list cross out the ones you dont like pass the list back keep 10 names on the list at all times if you cross out 4 he has to come up with 4 more after about 3 rounds rate the names 1-10 the ones you like best and the ones you like least if there are still names you absolutly hate cross those off combine the lists and comprmisemaybe take a name thats not so bad a s a middle name

Oops - this is a hot subject
Have you thought about choosing the name of a family member-even if you don't tell them.
Make a list of names that both of you 'could' agree on. then put it away for awhile .
A persons name is so important and personal. Think about the meaning of the name also.
Perhaps you could include the name your husband likes somewhere in the child's name . Remind him to think about how cruel the rest of the world and especially other children when it comes to things like unusual names.

You two are going to have to figure this out somehow. You can try just making lists and comparing them or sit down with a baby name book together and see what you can come up with that you both like. You could maybe also decide one of you gets the first name and one gets the middle name.

good luck, you need it!

I know the feeling. My husband and I cannot agree on ANYTHING with this baby. Which is weird since we had absolutely no problem picking our first child's name.

What my husband and I are planning (AFTER we find out the gender, then it's only one name to figure out) is for us BOTH to make lists of names we like, using either a baby name book or babynames.com and then compare lists, see if we like anything on each others or see if we came up with the same name somewhere.

okay me and my fiancee had the SAME problem what we did was we picked out at least 3 names we could both live with which was a little tough at first cuz we dont have the same taste in names but we agreed on Jayden,Dominic and Christopher then the deal we made was we both call our moms and the name they both say they like we would go with well both our moms like Dominic so today my son is Dominic Gabriel (after his uncle that passed) Flores:)

Maybe you should by a baby name book and look through it together.

You cross out all the names you dont like
Have him cross out the ones he doesnt like

then you should come up with somewhat of a compromize?

personally i love the names aidan and landon

suggestions: lucas, schyler, brady, nate/nathan, kian, cameron, brett, barry, blake, cole, logan

haha hope this helps! good luck! and i wish you and this nameless boy well!!

ask him to make a long list of names besides the ones above that he likes, you do the same, and then exchange. See if there are any that cross over. It's not reasonable to only have one name on your list.
Some ideas:
Isaiah
Hayden
Levi
Ryland

J

Why not just Isaac? I am not really a fan of any of the names you've listed.

Better yet, why don't the two of you surf online baby name sites (or get a baby name book) and jot down the ones that strike both your fancy?

Isaaic is a nice combination of Isaac and Isaisas. I say go along with it--as long as he promises you can pick the baby's middle name. . Pick a good one--then you can call the kid Mathias (Matt) while your husband sticks with Isaaic (Ike).

See what I mean? Get him to compromise without realizing he's doing it.... :) Then everyone is happy.
