So I bought 3 Fiskar scissors today - 2 were broken.

for the one, the handle is broken.

for the second, it doesn't close properly (it's the majestic edge) and it keeps "catching" on itself, and so doesn't close/cut properly.

Aren't they supposed to be a good company? What is up then with their products being so defective like this?

I use Fiskars scissors almost exclusively. I am very sorry to hear that you had problem with not one pair, but 2 pairs right out of the box. My mother has used Fiskars almost exclusively for as long as I can remember, and I am 35.

There is another very high quality brand out there that I know of that is readily available. Gingher. If Fiskars has pissed you off for the last time, I would recommend Gingher. They have a very wide variety of scissors, so you will be able to find what you are looking for with them.

Mine work fine, and I hope that you have the exception not the rule for Fiskars quality. I need to buy some new scissors, and was looking really hard at the Gingher. Maybe I will look harder, like all the way to the checkout line.

Are you sure they are authentic Fiskar brand scissors? I know they sell different cheap versions that are colored like the originals, but def. don't work like the originals! If they are originals, did you buy them in a store or online?? Either way, return them, it may have been a bad batch from the factory, or too many people handling them at the store. If you bought them at a store, next time, try to check them out really well to make sure they are the quality you want BEFORE you leave the store! That way you can save yourself a trip and have more crafting time!!!

Just as another answerer said, not all orange scissors are Friskars. To begin with they are not the best scissors available. There are many more, higher quality scissors you can purchase. They are a good quality, lower priced scissor. Take them back to the store. You will have no problem getting a replacement, or a refund.

Fiskars have been around forever. I used them back in the 1980s! I would take them back to the store or contact the company for a refund. I, too, would think they would be more reputable than that.
