I think the Roaring 20's would have been awesome. And the 40's after WWII.

i have to admit, this is a tough question... the 50's would have been great. low cost of living, great service where ever you go, great looking cars, and sooo many other things. But the bad side- got an infected toe? time to amputate.

The other era i would have loved to be in is the 70's like Fish is saying. Dazed and Confused (a movie i watch regularly) has me thinking that it would be great! Great music, muscle cars, carefree feeling, still cheap living, drinking age is 18, and it was ok to loiter.

I pick the 70's. sorry for the long explanation.

Anything other than the 80s would have been awesome...the 70s, the 60s, the50s, 40s, Hell, even the Roman empire would have been better than the 80s.

The 20's in this country, and the thirties in France which had an insular economy and was therefore not much affected by the global depression. I love 30's pop culture the best.

I have contended more than once that I was born far too late; at least 100 years. It would have put me right in the middle of the civil war but I think I should have been born in about 1840 to 1850.

it all sounds so alluring doesn't it? If I were younger I'd definitely have said the 60s..hippie dom!

but really being a chick, i'm kind of grateful for the era I'm in now..its still not really equal, but much better than any time before, esp in this country

Yeah the roaring 20's would be great, but you would want to have money to really enjoy it.
