I've used mud. When outdoors,if my hands get dirty,I'll find a source of water ,wet them,and scoop up some mud,rub it into my hands,and rinse.
Once while camping,I figured I could do the same with my hair, and it worked.
I still use mud on occasion,but not regularly.

Tomato Soup with olive oil. It was susposed to liven color and add body well it just died my blonde hair red for a few days and made it flat and greasy. haha I think ill stick to normal shampoo. Last time i listen to my 90 year old grandma about hair products

Okay, Kids - DO NOT try this at home...when I was a teen-ager (many moons ago) I had really oily hair and was determined to do something to get rid of it - I used Comet cleanser in my hair one day. Bad idea...it destroyed my hair!

my hair was super oily when I was in high school...I washed it 3 times a day with dish washing liquid!

I read that baking soda removes build up. So I tried it. It just dried the crap out of my hair, so much so that I just gave in and cut it off. NOT recommended.

beer while river rafting....it doesn't harm the environment and you already have it in the raft and suprsingly it has some wierd hair cleaning property....
