What does it matter what the tally is??! Both are doing it in the present, and shouldn't be.
While a majority of Christians denounce their fanatic lunatics as being crazies, they categorize ALL Muslims under the same label, even though Muslims of outstanding Character do the same thing.
Personally, I see it as a good thing that they don't care for each other, because the day that they see eye to eye, is the day that the rest of us are going to be strung up by our feet while the crows peck out our eyes, for not adhering to one or the other.

Notice how neither God nor Allah ever tells civilized people to bludgeon their children to death, or blow up infidels?

Once again, this isn't the religion section. Now, are you talking recently or a few hundred years ago? I think the Muslims are trying to be number 1.

And harryr seems to have forgotten the the hundreds of Catholics murdered in Britain alone, including Elizabeth's sister and rightful heir to the throne , who were murdered by Protestants who would not tolerate total compliance.

That's a hard one to qualify. Both certainly have large totals, though not as large as the Godless communists who put both of those groups th shame in the 20th century. History may be a use full thing to study, I prefer to live in the present. Today the number of people being murdered by muslims as a function of their religious beliefs far out numbers those being killed by Christians for similar reasons. Muslims being killed(not murdered) in reaction to muslim barbarism is acceptable, as how else would we stop these savages from attempting to impose their religious mythology on the rest of us.

Which group has committed more murders in the name of their faith: Toss up. They have both committed their fair share of horrible acts in the name of their Gods. The Crusades, Jihad, you name it. I think if we were able to go back and calculate, the number would be very close.

Well, religion is a tremendously destructive force. I'd say given both their past histories and present actions, they're probably neck and neck.

Oh, and for those of you who think that it only counts if they did it in the name of their religion, and therefore you said "muslims"...Don't forget the Crusades. Or the Inquisition. Or the witch hunts in Europe and the Americas. And of course, the conquest of the Americas and the genocide and cultural destruction that followed. All in the name of the Christian god.

Depends on what you mean - people who are Christian may have murdered more people than people who are Muslim may have murdered.

But if you mean murdered in the name of their religion, if you mean led by the religion's leaders, Muslims.

But I think the important thing is to look past the WHO and to the WHAT. Jesus, whether you take him as the Messiah or not (and I don't), was non-violent. He preached non-violence and he never hurt anyone. Muhammad was a mass-murderer who preached, and left a legacy of, violence.

Because people identify with their ancestors' religions, most people who claim to follow a given religion, it's really passive - they never went out and researched the theology and decided that they would be Seventh Day Adventists - - - - their parents were, their grandparents were, etc...., kind of like political parties. The difference between a Seventh Day Adventist and a Methodist, in most cases neither would really be able to explain in theological terms. And it's the same with Muslims.

But ISLAM, if you mean the life and actions and teachings of one Muhammad, born 570 AD, is, in the words of a former KKK member and long-time West Virginia Senator, "barbaric."

So, just because you meet a guy named Mohammad doesn't mean he wants to kill you. I met a guy named Mohammad the other night and he played soccer on the Saudi national team and wants to help teach my team some moves. He's a friend of my friend Said who owns a restaurant in my town.

But the Koran DOES say what it says, and if I were getting onto a plane and I saw a half dozen Muslim men getting on and sitting in solo seats spread out but on the aisles, I'd be first in line to agree to get bumped....
