Rock a bye baby, in the tree top
When the wind blows the cradle will rock
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall
And down will come baby, cradle and all

rock a bye baby, in the tree top, when the wind blows the cradle will rock. When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall and down will come baby, cradle and all.
It's one of the most gruesome lullabies you could sing for your child to give them 'sweet dreams'

Here ya go. Enjoy your granddaughter :)
Rock-a-bye, baby
In the treetop
When the wind blows
The cradle will rock
When the bough breaks
The cradle will fall
And down will come baby
Cradle and all
Baby is drowsing
Cosy and fair
Mother sits near
In her rocking chair
Forward and back
The cradle she swings
And though baby sleeps
He hears what she sings
From the high rooftops
Down to the sea
No one's as dear
As baby to me
Wee little fingers
Eyes wide and bright
Now sound asleep
Until morning light

the version i always sang is:
Rock a by baby in the tree top
When the wind blows the cradle will rock
when the boow(not sure of spelling on that one) breaks the cradle will fall
and mommy catch baby cradle and all....
of course the other version says "down will come baby cradle and all" but I never liked the thought of singing that to a child as they are drifting off to dream.

(pretty scary for a kids lullabye, don't you think)

So my answer won't be as great as these others, but i would just like to add that my mother would always sing "safely and all" instead of "cradle and all"... it made her feel better singing it she said.
