actually its Oxycodone.
its different from codeine because it has and extra oxygen atom.

its based off the chemical structure of opium's thebaine
heroin codeine and morphine are made from opium too.
hydrocodone and oxycodone are both sythenic, man made forms.

the pill you take will probably be made up of
Oxycodone 7.5 mg
Tylonal (acetaminophen) 300mg

if you've taken vicodin (Hydrocodone/acetaminophen) you'll notice Oxy is much the same thing. It seems a little cleaner (won't make you sick as quickly) and is a tiny bit stronger, but that won't be noticed unless you've taken these drugs regulaly

Oxycodone is a potent and potentially addictive opioid analgesic medication synthesized from thebaine. However it is an important medication for treatment of pain in cancer patients. It was developed in 1916 in Germany and introduced to the pharmaceutical market as Eukodal® (also spelled Eucodal) and Dinarkon®. Its chemical name is derived from codeine - the chemical structures are very similar, differing only in that the hydroxyl group of codeine has been oxidized to a ketone group, hence 'oxycodone', and in the 7,8-dihydro-feature (Codeine has a double-bond between those two carbons).

In the United States, oxycodone is a Schedule II controlled substance both as a single agent and in combination with products containing paracetamol (aka acetaminophen), ibuprofen or aspirin. It was first introduced to the US market in May 1939.

Oxycodone is a drug subject to abuse, and is included in the sections for the most strongly controlled substances that have a commonly accepted medical use under the German Betäubungsmittelgesetz (III), the Swiss law of the same title, UK Misuse of Drugs Act (Class A), Canadian controlled substances act, Austrian Suchtmittelgesetz, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese and South African controlled substance laws, just to name a few. It is also subject to international treaties controlling psychoactive drugs subject to abuse or dependence.

Depends on the strength.

I have the 10/325. That means that there is .10 of oxycodene, 325 mg of Tylenol and the rest is filler to hold it together. Filler can be gelatin..etc.

If you have the 5/325 that means it holds .05 and 325 same with the 7.5.

Oxycodene is a synthetic form of opioid. Opioid is a derivative of Heroin that is found in the poppy plant.

It is also not a drug to fool with. If you become addicted the with-drawls are said to be a near death experience.

It's made from thebaine, an alkaloid found in opium. Unlike most of the other alkaloids found in opium, thebaine is a stimulant. It's a controlled substance that is used in the production of several other substances, such as naloxone.

And yes, thebaine, a stimulant, is converted into oxycodone, an analgesic. Sometimes just moving a molecule or two around can have a profound effect like that.

Carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, a bit of nitrogen, a bit of chloride.

The chemical formula is 4, 5α-epoxy -14-hydroxy -3-methoxy- 17-methylmorphinan -6-one hydrochloride.

the skill is in how it is put together

seriously

now any more questions will not be answered by me

by the way - why is this organic chemistry question in Astronomy and Space? Are you abusing drugs?
