I cheered them in the 80's not the 70's lol.....and i loved them..they sure put teams like the avs to shame who just have no skill lol jk :-P
But the reason i know this stuff is becaus the Jets were the first Club team from North America to have ever beaten the Soviet Red Army........so we have a longer hockey background then you guys down yonder.

I don't wish to take sides here but I do take exception to the part of your statement that says the Red Army team of the 70's could hit back.

Dorothy Hamill was a better checker than any of the men in red.

I recall a decent check put on a Soviet player by one Ed Van Impe that got the Russians so riled that the coach pulled them off the ice and the bench. It took the threat of not getting paid to bring them back.

Amazing how time can skew history.

What's odd about your question, is that you're from Winnipeg, and yet you cheered for the Soviets in the 70s. Kind of strange. The series will not be won in game 5. Just watch Russia come back.

Sorry Mike I watched the game and those Russian kids are going through the motions. I guess with failure no longer meaning an automatic banishment to Siberia most of these guy don't give a rat's behind what happens. To them it's a few extra bucks and nothing more.

If they can't win in Russia, they are unlikely to win in Canada. I think they will pull themselves together though and win at least one game. No one likes to lose.
