Depends on the girl, but I try to avoid the dinner and a movie thing, there's so much more; mini golf, bowling, ball room dancing (that was actually fun) go to a park, a fair.
Something with many distractions to avoid lul's in conversation but not require silence like a movie does that takes away time from the date.
Remember 1st dates are interviews nothing else, you find out about her she find's out about you, I've never really seen a reason to be nervous, the hard part is asking her out on the 1st date, if she says yes then all I have to do is be myself and not screw it up, because if she says yes to going on the date, she already likes something about you to want to find out more.

Something to get to know each other. Dinner at a restaurant, make dinner together, go for a hike, or a walk & ice cream.
Dont do a movie though, it is kind of uncomfortable to be a movie sitting next to someone you dont know that well. And it gets awkward wondering if he is gonna try to hold my hand...do something where you guys can talk & laugh & have fun!

I like to take the girl and play pool at a coffee shop just to see if she to stuck up to play......if she isn't I'm game for a 2nd date......lol

Go somewhere quite so you can talk. A movie would be an awkward place to go....because you would be sitting there with a stranger unable to talk!
