My best friend from age 12 died in 2001. We were inseperable in junior high and high school. Maintained our friendship thru college. Both moved to Nashville when we got married.....were in each other's weddings..... and even were pregnant at the same time. We did everything together. Except this one thing. I'll never forget her calling to tell me. She was always so straight forward so she didn't sugarcoat it. She just said, "Ok listen, the doctor just told me I had stomach cancer and this is what we're going to do......."
Ohhhhhh had she lived you and she would be both bashing George W. together. I think she was the only person that I ever knew that actually worked for the Jessie Jackson campaign. To say she was a Democrat was..... well..... an understatement. She was about 4 foot 9 inches but she scared the hell out of me. lol I have no doubt she could have run for president and made Hillary look like a wienie girl. She had such strength...... such presence...... such insight..... and all mixed with compassion and love. I adore her still!! Had she lived...... no doubt she would have made a name for herself. Come to think of it...... she actually did in life. :)

Yes I do. Over the years I have lost many people I know. But, you're right. The ones that were cut down young are that ones you think about the most.
I have, as I'm sure you have, gone to the wall and looked for the people I knew. Rubbing your finger across their name can't bring them back, but somehow it makes their lives real.
There are others that through accidents, drugs and just plain dumb choices are gone.
I do wonder what would have happened to all of them. So many showed so much promise. So many died young.
Boy, that was a real downer of a question and answer.

I'm 14 so luckily none of my friends has died. But a 12 year old boy who my sister knew recently died of meningitus and I think that in the years to come I'll always wonder how his life will of turned out.
One of my friends had meningitus when she was 11. She's now 16 and she's lived her life. So it's weird to think she could have died.

Exactly...a high school friend of Polio
A neighbor boy in a car accident (fell asleep driving back to college)
A friends son driving back to college ( hit an oil slick behind a semi and furniture he was carrying came forward and killed him)
and on and on....
