Whatever you do, DO NOT rent from U-Haul; their fleet is old and poorly maintained.
We used Budget and were very happy with the truck, which had only 20,000 miles on it. The yard personnel were well trained and hooked up the tow dolly safely, then gave us detailed instructions in how to operate it.
Google U-Haul safety; it'll scare the crap out of you.

I have moved many times, first stay away from U-Haul, their fleets are poorly maintained and if they say you will get an air-conditioned van, don't count on it. The top of the line is Penske. I would use Penske for long trips. If it is one way, and not over 300-400 miles you'll probably save more money with Budget.

My friend checked around, pricing, Florida to PA, one way. He ended up with a nicer truck from Penske Leasing.
