Sometimes. I'm a family law attorney and I do domestic violence work. With some ladies, when it's a very touchy situation, I give them my cell phone number so they can call me day or night if something happens. You know what I mean, the whack job of an ex is pounding at their door in the middle of the night because he's drunk and doesn't have the sense God gave a gerbil.
I always work out safety plans with them ("Keep your doors and windows locked. Don't open the door if he comes over. Barricade yourself and the kids in whatever room will be hardest for him to break into and immediately call the police!) put, just in case stuff comes up that we didn't discuss in making a safety plan, then I let them call me on the cell phone.
Fortunately, the safety plan is usually good enough and the police fast enough.
But even though my job doesn't technically require me to be available to these people at night or on weekends, I don't want in on my conscience that something happened just because they didn't know what to do and didn't have anyone to ask.

close.......computers shut down 9:30 pm till 4 am thats my off time
but it is 7 days a week
