I can be as frivolous as the next person at times.

Thats ok kickinup. I wasn't whining like one guy said. This is only a free for all and everyone's entitled to use it as they wish. Only a small % of them are my "best" like maybe 2 or 3 per thousand tho I do try for more.

Also when my "best" answers come up. I am still the one who benefits most from them anyways. It's like playing with a jigsaw puzzle and suddenly I get the picture. All is well. I just noticed that just because I saw value doesn't mean that anyone will at the very same time. I was curious to see if anyone else had the same experience. Cheers!

The answers were all useful. Thank you.

its only you, but yeh, that happens to me, too. as anigma say, sometimes i really slave over an answer and get no response at all. other times, i answer mostly cause nobody else has tried to give a decent answer, even though i dont really understand the question, and the asker gives me all the stars. unless the question is really stupid (not funny, or badly asked) i try my best to give the best answer i can. as some answers say, some people just want their opinion confirmed.

I have noticed also. It is always a surprise when I get a best answer notice.

I try to answer serious questions, and I always put an effort to answer. I can understand when a person chooses as best answer the response most personally satisfactory, which may not be what I call best. Also, some answers have quite a life experience behind them, which is not obvious to the person who ask.

I answer questions to sharpen my knowledge in specific areas. Yahoo answers has been quite useful in that sense. There were times when I did expect to get the best answer notice, but that does not diminish the satisfaction for me.It is useful in another sense. Another answer may have referred to a detail I overlooked, or the choices show me the knowledge of people in general. It is all good in one way or another.

~~~ Yes canron4peace,I've noticed that too. So I tried giving rotten answers a few times and gotten "Best Answer" on them. I guess it's just a matter of perspective of what the asker likes best. Things change from day to day too.I guess it depends on how many different answers and opinions an asker gets. I try not too stress out on all this because it's supposed to be fun and informative. Peace out! ~~~
I'm frequently surprised when my answer is chosen....just recently, I found I had misread the question, answered tho' to the best of my ability and got best answer....but I truly hadn't understood what was really being asked.....life is full of surprises.
Some of the answers I give, I have sweated over to be helpful and feel pleased with myself quite honestly, but then I hear nothing.....so you can never predict the result! But then that's half the fun!
No I think you are right ....people may not want to accept what they consider the inevitable truth that you somehow project. I also think it is not in your nature to be frivolous if you were people will never bother with you. Look at your fans.
I hope I have answered you correctly. Sometimes I have a tendency to over read or mis read. lol
Thanks for your question
People on here seem to dislike my sarcasm.
They also seem to hate when i use this one them:
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
No one seems to like how crude I can be.
Many times the person asking the question has a certain bias not founded on logic or science. In such cases, you lose every time. Goes with the territory, but still frustrating.
Yes I have, I know that I need to pay more attention to those answers that are really thoughtful and I will especially to yours from here on out. Sorry about that!
It's not only you, and besides that, it is FREQUENT. Some busy people's idea of best answers don't include real criteria, but some sort of mush instead.
Yes, rigorous thought can be hard to reduce to a juicy sound bite.
