my guess is that its an old monitor of the CRT variety and its warning you to turn it off as it does not have auto-standby that more modern monitors have

the distorted colours could be a setting in the software that came with your graphics card or someone has had a magnet close to the screen [again assuming CRT]
or it could be that the monitor is on its last legs?
difficult to tell without seeing it.

you could try attaching the monitor to another PC to confirm that the fault[s] is definitely a monitor issue - not the graphics card.

good luck with it

Sorry to say, but that sounds like you have a virus. You should buy Norton Antivirus from you local retail store. Or maybe you can find a person who works on computers for cheap. This may not be the answer you were looking for, but that's what I believe you should do. As for the colors, maybe you can press the "Auto Adjustment" on your monitor.

Good Luck

It sounds like the monitor has managed to get into a factory set-up mode.

You need to contact the manufacturer to find out how to put it back into normal operation.

I'm pretty sure that is a virus problem. Try scanning. I also had that kind of problem but it says SEX ME. I got busted and did not use my comp until my cousin fixed it.

Hope it helps!
