You are not poor, just below the median income. I would say you are poor if you are making the poverty level of your city / area, which you are not.
I am making below the median income of my area (one of the richest in the country, see news article) and I am not poor, just not as fortunate and well established as those with the median income.
If you can pay your bills without trouble or worry, then I definitely say you are not poor, but doing ok.

The median income is different than the poverty level. The "Federal Poverty Guidelines" have, for a family of 1, is just over $10,000/year. So, you're well above the poverty line.
It's great that you have a sizable savings account - you should consider putting that money into various investments.
Should you be making "moor"? You might have a better chance at getting a raise if you worked on your spelling.

Just because your income is below the median income doesn't make you poor. You're still well above the poverty line, and debt-free, to that matter. It just means that there are lots of rich(er) people in your state.

You make below the median income, but your savings and lack of debt make you asset positive, which is more than one can say for the average American. For instance, someone making 100,000 a year who holds a mortgage for a half million dollar home, three car payments, and 9,000+ dollars worth of credit card debt is way worse off than you.

I believe median salary in u.s. is jus under 50k, so ur defenitely not poor, but ur not exactly don trump. The majority of people in ur area might make the same or near same amount as you. U jus might have an unusual number of really, really rich individuals in boston. Ur not poor dude, jus not rich! Only my opinion.

It just means you are in a rich neiborhood. Just because you're below the median of your city doesn't make you "poor".

The fact that you have money to save should answer your question. No.
