Temple University is a great school for it's price. I know many people who have gone to that university and have done really well for themselves. Philadelphia, if you have seen the news or read a paper, does have an increasing crime rate, just like many other places...but Temple U has some of the best security for college in the city...it is way better than my school's security and I'm in philly. The campus is really big, and you will meet lots of people with different majors and interests, so that is a plus...I grew up around that area of the city, I never had any problems, maybe just being annoyed with the city lifestlye, but if you are a wise person you should be fine. Anything can happen anywhere, but if you can get used to being in philly or any other city, you will be just fine. Go take a visit and see for yourself, everyone likes different atmospheres and some people can deal with the city while some can't. Best luck!

The campus is safe; the area around it is not.
I have quite a few friends who have gone to Temple (none have lived on campus). They have an excellent communications department, and I have seen some wonderful theatre there.

Temple is in North Philly, which can be a rough neighborhood. Although they have done a good job of keeping the campus relatively safe. I have had some friends that graduated from their, and they loved it!

i am a delivery man. and and a few blocks in any direction is bad lands. if you now what i mean it can be a dangerous place..end less you wont to cop some stuff .

It's in a really ghetto neighborhood. Drugs, murder, the usual American urban nightmare. Temple is in the middle of that.
