FLY THE FLAG campaign

THE PROGRAM IS THIS:

On Tuesday, September 11th, 2007, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American Flag on this anniversary of our country's worst tragedy.
We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.
In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

Yes I will..and a sidenote to "John r and brush"...so you will not fly the flag to honor thousands who perished and tried to save, because you hate Bush! And youa re an American? It is your right to think that way just as it is my right to put a boot up your *** for being an idiot.

Thank You. It is a good effort.

I fly the flag from my front porch *EVERY DAY*

*EVERY DAY*

I display it 24/7. In accordance with public law, I use an all weather flag, and shine a light on it, using a dusk sensor that ensures that the flag will be lit.

It is that important, and meaningful.

ADDITION: For joshcrime, it is so much more than a symbol, and I am saddened that you do not understand this. On a battlefield, the flag is the rallying point, it marks a piece of ground that must be defended. We are free because people defend that flag.

My flag flies proud outside my house 24/7/365(6).

And to those of you who need 'Congress' to tell you to fly the flag in honor of those killed (any day anyone is killed).....

SEPTEMBER 11TH HAS BEEN DECLARED PATRIOT DAY!!! (U.S. House Joint Resolution 71 was approved by a vote of 407-0 on October 25, 2001. It requested that the President designate September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day.")

Henry....My flag flies all year....and yes...on December 7th as well!

I flag several flags every day. U.S. Flags. I will have signs in my yard along with a memorial to the victims of 9/11/01 and a big sign stating that due to the lack of immigration law enforcement and the failure of our government to uphold the laws of the land, our country was attacked on 9/11/01 by 19 illegal immigrants. The government furthered that attack by allowing illegal immigrants to work at our airports, in our critical infrastructures and by allowing their children to become citizens and failing to deport them and crack down on them. Instead the government attacked the law abiding U.S. Citizens while illegal immigrant support groups and people like Elvira Arellano and her illegitimate son, Saul, and others similarly situated were permitted to continue their subversive and anti-american acts, even marching in our streets in defiance of U.S. Law.

YES! My AMERICAN made flag has been up and flying since shortly after 9/11. We've had to replace it several times, because they tend to become tattered and torn. My flag burning ceremony consists of burning worn out flags when replacing them with new ones. :)

Great question.

When the troops come home I would consider it.
And you are talking some serious garbage when you say fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms. If you are saying those freedoms are the ability to burn petrol at will then I can agree. The antidote to terror is not a fabric its an understanding of the roots of the problem and addressing that problem.

Why is that day any different? Why not fly a flag every day?

The Flag of the United States of America is our symbol. Symbol of what? Who decides? Who makes the rule? You? Me? The President? The Easter Bunny?

A flag is merely a symbol. Nothing more. Burn it, fly it, wear it around your shoulders, run with it proudly down Main Street, fly it at half mast, wipe your butt with it, whatever.

It is used as a symbol to express your feelings about the goverment of the United States. Sometimes you're damn proud to be an American. Fly that baby HIGH!

If your government happens to be taking a giant dump on the Constitution for it's own political power, then burn that mother!

I don't need a 10 page essay to explain my disdain for the Bush Administration when all I need to do is burn an American flag in view of the White House. With one act, I express my complete disgust with the American President. I'm not disgracing YOU, or your COUNTRY, or those who fought and died for the principles our nation stands for.

IT'S IS ONLY A SYMBOL! No one has ever died for it. Maybe people have died in our conflicts to protect freedom, liberty and justice. But not a flag.

What are you? 5? Do you say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning before work too?

Grow up. Stop being so melodramatic.

EDIT: I can see that most of you blindly pseudo-patriots here don't even know the proper care and maintenance of your flags. I suggest you go read about it somewhere. The flag is not supposed to be flown at night. If it touches the ground, get this people, it's supposed to be BURNED. You are to fold it when it's being put away so that the stars are the only thing showing and the red and white cannot be seen through the folds.

But like most chickenhawk flag worshippers, you only squawk like buzzards.
