You need to be 21 years of age. But your also going to need to get a permit for it. The process is usually long (up to 6 months atleast in NY) and you will need to have a clean criminal record. Unless of course you buy it off the street, then there is no age requirement and no permit needed. Just don't get caught by the cops with it or your looking at doing some time.

I am not sure were the state of Floeida is located? If you mean Florida, then it would be 21 to legally purchase a hand gun.

18 in nearly every state but 21 to purchase bullets even though that's Unconstitutional.
