I have a Mcafee Virusscan Enterprise version. How do I check whether the VirusScan is upto-date with the virus definitions or not? If mistakenly I updated the Mcafee twice does it harm my computer?

Updating McAfee twice doesn't harm the computer. It simply goes through the files & "sees" that they all have been downloaded the first time.

Usually when you open McAfee - if you look at the bottom of the screen it says something like "Last update: day, month, year & time."

You can also just click update & let the program run to make sure you have the latest info.

If you right click on the VirusScan icon in your system tray, you can then select About VirusScan, and in the window that appears it should tell you the latest date that the virus definitions have been upated. You probably don't want anything that is more than a couple of weeks old to be the most up to date.

No it will not hurt your pc you can update as often as you wish.

I don't use Macafee but you should be able to go to their site to see what the most current virus database build number is.

Just compare that number to yours to see if you are current.

In general I would update the database no less than once per week. Most av programs have settings in them to do auto updates just set it and forget it the program will do the rest.
