Nothing is impossible. Of course he can win. But he won't. Federer has to beat himself for Roddick to have a chance.

Andy's only chance is to ace his way to victory. Once it gets into rallies, Federer is superior. His chances unfortunately are less than 1/14.

Even Federer has his worst season since become world no.1, he still stand a better than Roddick. No offensive here. Roddick tend to upset by lower rank or not so well known player. I know Federer has lost more matches this year compare the last 4 years. But the players he lost to are pretty good players and well known players. Therefore, I still think that Federer still stand a better chance than Roddick in winning the US Open.

As much chance as me beating Federer, and by the way I'm not Rafael Nadal. Joking aside, NO CHANCE IN HELL and I have one number in mind 13-1. If I want one guy not to beat Federer is Roddick. I'd rather see Young beat Federer than Roddick. I think Andy is the most overrated tennis player ever.

He has a chance, i'd say a 20 or 30% chance. In the last meetings they've had, Roger hasn't had a lot of trouble returning Andy's fastball, so Andy is going to have to hit his spots on the serve, and he has to try to transition into the net after some of his bazooka ground strokes, to put pressure on Federer. Basically anyone is going to have to play there BEST tennis, and play it for the whole match, oh and they will need a little help here and there from Federer

Ooh, Andy is my absolute favorite men's players, but, as much as I'd LOVE to see him win another US Open Slam, I'm afraid his chances of beating R-fed are very slim. I mean, the guy's a crazy tennis machine! I think if Andy can manage to hold his serve and make even one break, he might be able to capture a set. But 3 sets? Ok, I'll give Roddick credit that he HAS beaten Fed in the past, but only a handfull of times. I'm all for Andy, but I'm afraid the odds are in favor of Federer advancing to the semis.

Of course.

First, Roddick has to serve at least 75%. This will give him the chance he needs. He needs to play the match of his life - very few unforced errors, some luck, and all that.

With all that, he has to hope that Federer has an off-day. Even with all this, Federer will push him to the limit, and Roddick has to respond on all the big points.

If you want to see a player that's playing the match of his life, against an off-day Federer, you just have to look at this year's Montreal Masters. Djokovic just didn't miss, hit a lot of lines, returned well, and Federer had something like 65 errors in 3 sets. Even then, this match went to a third set tiebreaker.

If Roger falls down a flight of stairs before the match and breaks his leg, yes. If Roger gets hit by a subway train, yes. If Roger goes to the Bronx zoo and gets bitten by a poisonous snake, yes. If Roger runs into rush hour traffic blindfolded, yes. If Roger comes in healthy, I wouldn't bet against him.

Andy Roddick is not over rated, the fact that you come on this thing slating him is enough to prove that he is not over rated, don't you ever get tired of just assuming federer will win everything and federer is just so damn cocky..i don;t like him. To answer your question: Yeah of course he has a chance, djokovic beat federer why shouldn't roddick?

Since Isner is going to beat Federer, you are making a major assumption. Roddick has the talent to beat Federer, but also has the potential to lose in the next round. Excluding his loss at the Australian Open earlier this year, Roddick has been narrowing the gap between himself and Federer.
