i know the sex one isnt a myth because the male's ejaculate contains a hormone that helps to soften the cervix, supposedly walking helps the baby drop...i just wasnt sure what the heck spicey foods had to do with anything lol

Spicy food is suppose to cause bowel cramps (diarrhea) which could lead to uterine cramping. I do not think this works, I have been eating tons of spicy food (it's what I crave) and I am 40 weeks preg. No early baby for me.

It is a myth. Many towns even have restaurants that claim to have labor inducing foods, spicy or not. I tried walking, sex, spicy foods, having the membranes stripped. Nothing worked for me. I ended up getting induced. It is no fun reaching your due date with no baby, but hang in there and just know that you're going to meet your baby very soon and you won't even remember how awful it was to be waiting forever for him/her. And seriously, even though it sounds cliche, if you have some $$ laying around right now, get out there and go to dinner someplace nice and go see movies. Things get more difficult with the baby, and then even worse with toddlers. You'll be inhaling all your meals, so enjoy a nice long one while you can! Good luck!

Eating spicy foods is just a myth. Are you trying to go into labor? If so I took Castor Oil w/OJ. 2 tablespoons to 6 ounces and drink it fast cause it tastes nasty and walk. I've done this 3 out of my 5 births. Went into labor the same night, within a couple of hours.

To tell you the truth. All that stuff you hear are just myths. I tried every one of them including the massages they say to get and nothing helped me. I delivered days after my due date. You can go to the doctor and get them to strip your membranes and that is suppose to open the cervix up so that labor will come sooner. They did that to me and I delivered 2 days later. The baby knows when it is ready and you really can't do anything at home to help it come faster except just wait. That baby will come when it is time for it to come. You could talk to your doctor about gettin your membranes stripped and see what he says. Good Luck
