There is not a huge difference in the king and the ca king. the difference is about 6-8in. A king is just a lil bigger then a queen, but a CA king is the size of 2 twins put together. Hope you find what you are looking for!

The California King, or Western King, is the longest bed on the market. At 84inches long, it is a full 4 inches longer than the Eastern King and a good choice for people six foot tall or more. Like it's wider cousin, it comes with two half-width or twin box springs. The only drawback of this mattress is that it is 4-inches narrower in width than the Eastern King.

Eastern (Standard) King Size Mattress: 76-inches wide x 80-inches long.

Western (California) King Size Mattress: 72-inches wide x 84-inches long.

If you have the space and the extra money, I prefer the cal. king. More room to stretch out!

Tke standard king and the california king both come with twin box springs only for the purpose that it makes it easier to move. The box springs for both kinds of mattress are made to fit the mattress it comes with.

We went from a Cal King to a King and I like the King better. The difference is, the Cal King is longer, but skinnier. So, I'm 6ft 1in, and on the King my feet are almost to the end, but on the Cal King, I had several inches before my feet would go off. So, if you are really tall, it's worth it to get the Cal King, but remember you lose 3 inches on the width. My biggest issue with the Cal King was, you could never find sheets for it in Michigan, so I was using King sheets and they kept coming off, very annoying.

I changed my King sized waterbed to an air mattress bed. Coleman used to sell King sized mattresses as one unit but have changed to two twins now. Finding sheets for the Calif King is difficult and expensive.
