The fattest state (Mississippi) is also the poorest...? Shouldn't the all stop wasting money on food and put it toward and education?

Um, they rank states according to how much money you make BEFORE you spend it, so you don't have room to say we are spending it all on food. Unlike in other states, a lot of people grow some if not all of their own food... I live in a suburb of Jackson and still have a garden in my back yard... And yes we do get paid less, but the cost of living is so much less down here... the cost of housing is 1/2 the national average. You can buy a 3 bedroom house for $100,000 in Jackson, where it will cost $400,000-$500,000 in San Francisco. So just because we make less money does not mean we are poor.
Also, Mississippi is ranked at the top of the most charitable states per capita in the country. Maybe we should stop donating our money to help your community and keep it for ourselves. Maybe that's where all our money is going! Next time you're affected by a hurricane or wildfire or flood, think about the fat asses in Mississippi who are giving away what little they have to save y'all's rich asses.

There's the reason they are the poorest state, it all goes to food. Like any addiction the will to quit has to be present to alter behavior.
