the dress code for muslim men..becasue from what i see, most men are not following it....

men should cover from navel to knees, not short shorts like soccer players and to be honest,no body wanna see that, brother!!
men should not wear sth that extend to below their heels, the prophet(salla Allah alyhe wassalam) mentioned this in hadiths like:"ma asfal al ka'bien mn al ezar fa fen nar"
and "man asbala ezaroh fa en al nar daroh"
sadaka rasoul Allah...

and another two serious things,brother....
low waist pants that shows your underwear(sorry) is not only forbidden,it's from the tradition of Loth's ppl(قوم لوط)...

adding to this_sth that is done by a really famous singer_is undoing your shirt buttons till your navel to show of your chest,is also one of their traditions.....

i dnt mean any bother,i'm just reminding.....

asslam 3alikom.

you are talking about extreme dangerous issue.

first of all(mn3'er laf wla dawran sa3b el 7kaya deh te3'yar felzamn el 7aly)(it is so hard to change this situation nowadays)
sorry alma3'rib is calling now i will complete latter

asllam 3alikom again,
i totally agree with what u have said except:(low waist pants that shows your underwear(sorry) is not only forbidden,it's from the tradition of Loth's ppl(قوم لوط)...)

but many of al mshai7' usually talk about this issue alot, but not in a proper way that could help to stop that.

may be the big concern is about al hijab coz fetnat al nesa2 ashad mn fetnat al regaal.

actually when i c someine i know doing that stupid thing i try to advice him in a friendly way

isa yehdy kol el nas game3an.

Rana you reminded me of an incident from last ramadan,

theres this guy and he still to this time lets his pants fall down that his backside can be clearly seen, i know many people have spoken to him about the issue but still he left his backside to show to all, to the point my husband offered to buy him a belt,

Anyway he was praying in the Mosque and his backside went into the face of another man, so the man who took this horrible fate, loud and clear the man smacked him across the backside, not even the fact that this guy will have this story with him when he is an old man because people dont forget these things, the guy still didnt pull up his pants.

So you raised a good issue

I wish to live to see the day where Muslim men stop talking about Hijab for a while and realise that there are muslim children passing away from starvation....

Adam.. I have a Master degree of Islamic Sharia and Usul Al Fiqh, beard is a Sunna.. otherwise give me your source so I can use my degree as a glass cleaner.

insh2'Allah im wearing the hijab this winter when i go to egypt but i think it will be hard coming back to usa.. cause all these american people that are at my school but if things are hard on you just because your pleasing Allah doesnt mean you shouldnt give up... ignore other peoples thoughts because.. they are the ones that are gonna get bad "points" if you know what i mean by points.. i like to discribe it by the word points anyways.. if your having a hard time with things jus cause your pleasing Allah and your still keeping up the pleasing Allah will reward the person insh2'Allah
and i have ONE muslim teacher an she wears hijab
=]
so atleast i wont feel "left out"
thanks soo much for the reminder
may Allah s.a.w. guide all to the right path

I am american and I am trying to learn Arabic and Islam. I am very interested in everyone's comments or "answers" but I am afraid that much of what is talked about I don't understand because it is written in Arabic. I can say that one of the things that I like about Islam is that most of the people dress modestly. (at least compaired to western standards) Living in USA....we see too much skin on both men and women and I believe that it should not be this way. I hope I am not intruding by answering this question. Sorry if I am.

Good Point Sister,

Other things forbidden from men are
1.Gold
2. Brocade and Silk Garments.
3. Saffron colored clothes.
4. Wearing clothes like women.

Anas (ra) said: The prophet (pbuh) prohibited men from wearing saffron colored clothes.
(Bukhari 1798 1799)

except
" men should not wear sth that extend to below their heels "
i've heard the sheikh talking about this matter he said that it was banned at the time of prophet (pbuh) because it was a sign of haughtiness
but it now doesn't mean that

I couldn't understand much of the Arabic written in English. Sorry Rana low waist pants are not from the traditions of Loth's ppl as you mentioned. It's coming mainly from USA and the young guys who don't understand just wear it. It's wrong and they should know more about Islam but it's better if we take it easy with them. Again we need to discuss it in Arabic that I can remind all of words from Quraan and hadith about what I say.

It seems that Adam liked the spicy topics very much and want to add a new one, but I will not discuss the beard unless there is a question about it.

Emy : I don't think you discussed the old topics you mentioned in Arabic ! did you ? it's the main reason for deleting your questions or answers plus there are haters who use to come to Egypt section and report everybody more than any other place on Yahoo answers. Good luck with Arabic then.

i don't know why is there much noise about this question some deleted their answer and some feel bad, WHERE IS THE PROBLEM? i can't find any, Rana has showed some facts that we meet every day in our life and she is right i guess this problem is bigger than the hijab problem, these are the men who are supposed to take the lead in the future.
Rana wants to"i dnt mean any bother,i'm just reminding...."
that's all.
