I am a 3rd year law student. I am undecided if I want to be a lawyer or not, assuming getting a job will be tough, does anyone recommend any careers where my law degree would help?

Ir is generally a good education for business, teaching, finance, politics, banking, government, law enforcement, lobbying, and other areas where you have to think clearly and quickly. Graduating law school also shows you can handle stress.

Don't give up on being an attorney so quickly. Most lawyers do not go to court, and we practice in very diverse fields.

I would consider why you went into law in the first place, and use that to guide you. Possible options include business, government, academia or teaching, selling insurance, real estate agent or something related like court reporter, law librarian or legal recruitment. But as you are undecided, I would also consider trying out for some legal jobs as well. The best way to decide if you like something is to give it a try, so if you can get a job as a lawyer I would advise you to take it. In the meantime preparing your applications, attending interviews and reading job ads can help you decide if work as a lawyer is for you or not. Make sure your perception that getting a lawyer-job will be tough doesn't put you off considering it, if that is what you really want to do! Best of luck!

I feel your pain. I think the whole alternative career for lawyers is jargon from the law schools career counseling center, trying to sell the product of a legal education and all its uses so students will keep shelling out money for law school, even as the attorney market gets flooded, job opportunities go down, and wages go down, it is just a business from the law school's side to get your tuition money.

Several years ago hired a law school graduate who did not wish to practice law, started in H.R., worked her way up and today is a Corporate V.P. of HR making more than she would have made had she entered the law profession.
