Since I have run a daytreatment program for mentally ill people, considered to be insane, i can not totally agree with that statement. I have found that a little bit of my own personal insanity helps understand them, then start normalizing their behavior in small steps.

Not a single psychiatrist , doctor or health practitioner will agree.
The assessment of insanity, mental and behavioral disorders is a logical science and not spontaneous and not simply based on pretending to be sane.
For a regular person faced with an increasingly alarming change of behavior of a person next to him or her, which may border on the appearance of full blown psychotic or manic crisis, I would definitely recommend removing yourself from the situation. There is no time to pretend to be anything.

Hmm...Well I think that when ur dealing with the insane u try to understand their reasons. Or u can at least try to figure out y their insane. People aren't born insane, something drives them to that extent. Everything has a reason. I don't think that acting sane is the solution.

Lol, "mental disorders" really are just different ways of thinking and acting lol. Why pretend to be sane? Sane is overrated. It's good to be insane, in moderation. Besides pretending creates a superficiality. It sounds to me like he says to pretend to be sane so you can gain power over them, like maybe they'll think "Oh man! He's sane! I should do what he says!" But there is no need for haveing power over people.

"what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." as said by the Principal in Billy Madison

This other person can inhabit your same body because that is what we do when we create personas around our spirit. We start to believe that we are the straight A student, who is popular, cute and has loads of friends, or the pimply, nerd, who walks the halls looking at the floor. We become these people fully, and they are not us at all, only impostors. We are pure divine love, god and goddess, manifested in human form.

I like to get right down to their particular brand of crazy, so we can really relate to each other. Indulge them as much as possible ... you'll have a blast!
