Absolutely. Didn't you ever see Mommy Dearest?

And remember, bullying is not just physical or even the obvious mean behavior. All too often mothers especially are cruel to their children by picking favorites, comparing siblings, and manipulating by guilt. We're all too familiar with the stereotypical "you'll be sorry when I'm dead and in my grave!" that is now the butt of jokes.

That kind of behavior is most cruel because it places the burden of the parent's happiness squarely on the shoulders of her young - while simultaneously setting the child up for failure. Evil.

Oh and this goes for fathers too.

The mother may bully her children without notice, due to many of the few reasons.

- Mother when she was their age (abusive parents)
- Mental illnesses
- Stressed/Tired

These are just one of the few reasons. Let's stick the subject here.

Sure, she'll be kind and loving because she wouldn't want to have a bad impressions on witnesses. However, if you are a victim of a mother bullying you, harassing, full-blown destructiveness towards you. You should talk to her or find an adolescent relative, friend, or counselor to help.

Yes, a mother can be a bully to her children. I have a lot of personal experience in this area. My mom would act like I was the most precious and important thing to her while we were out in public, but whenever something would go wrong at home, I was always the one she took her anger out on.

I think people who do that are rather pathetic. They are not in control of their own lives, so they take it out on others.

Of course. Look at all the cases of child abuse. Most child abusers are kind, innocent and loving in front of other people it is when the door is closed that their evil side comes out and they abuse their children.

While that's quite possible, you have to look at how the kids react to her in public. Do they appear to have a loving relationship with the mother? Are they affectionate, laughing and happy? If so, she probably isn't. If they seem timid with their mother or afraid, I would be concerned.

Yes! It happens all the time. I hope that a video camera can be set up to trap her. Those kids need to be taken from her, asap. She's sick addict and/or a cruel individual. Poor lambs.

Yes she can. If you are in a position to put a stop to it, either directly, or by reporting to the authorities, then do so.
