At what age does the fontanel completelty close? I thought it was by the age of 12 months! My daughter is 15 months in a week and her fontanel is still slightly open.

The time of closing of that anterior fontanelle varies widely, and can take up to 26 months. However, 90% of babies will experience closing of the anterior fontanelle between 7 and 19 months. Average around 15-18 months.
This is perfectly normal, so don't worry too much.

It's a sign her brain is growing, could be up until she's 18 months old, don't worry about it too much, at your doctor's visit they'll feel it and tell you if it's a concern.
Good luck!
