Before you go and say go to the Mexico sight of Yahoo, Tejano music originated in Texas and is a blend of Tex-Mex music making it American. The artists sing in spanish and english...I was just wondering how many people in here would like to have a category for Tejano music where we could all talk about our favorite tejano musicians.?

While I think it would be nice to see some sub categories for the country music section, and I don't mean to sound rude, but in all fairness, I think that a "classic" country section should be first on the list when and if they feel a necessity to break the category down.

I think it probably takes a public outcry from the yahoo community to get their attention.

You know, it just occurred to my that Yahoo has Yahoo Groups. Maybe there is something there and if not, if I am not mistaken, I do believe you can open a group for that particular subject though you would be hosting it as a moderator. Something to think about but not a bad idea if you feel there are enough folks interested.

Because Yahoo has no clue how popular Tejano really is and how much money it brings in. If Selena had lived, maybe they would today. That's how much of a tragic waste her murder really was.

I know Tejano artist Pete Astudillo personally, and he is a fun person to be around along with being a powerhouse talent. So is Jennifer Pena. Accordionist Johnny Saenz is the best in the world in my estimation and Danny Fernandez really knows his way around that keyboard.

Maybe there is a way to suggest to Yahoo that this should be a category for discussion.

Just talk about it like we are doing now. Personally I like the old school early artists such as Augustine Ramirez, Joe Bravo, Freddie Martinez, Los Relampagos etc....

You are right Tejano music is a big part of Texas!

Come on, these guys lump Rock and Pop together.

If you wanna talk Tejano, just let it go.

What about "Texas music"? Pat Green, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Earl Keene, etc? Didn't hear anyone mention that which OBVIOUSLY comes from Texas.
